Maa ilmasta plays instrumental rock with a big heart and an open mind. Their atmospheric music is at times serious – and at times not so serious.

Released by Luova Records, the album ISO YÖ (lit. “big night”), composed by Koskinen, walks the line between fantasy and reality, painting pictures of Jyväskylä and other places in Finland. The guitar-led performance together with the string arrangements and ambient-like sound images creates stark contrasts, allowing the images evoked by the song names to come alive in the mind’s eye.

The band will play also some new tunes at Yläkaupungin Yö.
